Responsible use

Acceptable Use Policy.

Version 1.1, last updated: 14 October 2026PDF

This policy applies to everyone who uses the EchoNova platform, whether on a self-serve account or under a services agreement, including Sada (a "Customer"), and to everyone the Customer lets use it. It forms part of the Customer's agreement with EchoNova AI L.L.C-FZ ("EchoNova"). The Voice Usage Policy supplements it.

1. Your responsibilities

The Customer must:

1.1 Tell people they are talking to AI. At the start of every conversation, say clearly that the person is talking to an automated assistant, unless this is already obvious, and offer a way to reach a human where one is available.

1.2 Get recording consent. Before recording or transcribing a call or voice message, inform the person and obtain any consent required by the law that applies, including the UAE Penal Code (Federal Decree-Law No. 31 of 2021), the UAE Cybercrime Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 34 of 2021), the UAE and Saudi data protection laws, and telecom rules. EchoNova's standard disclosure script (separate document) may be used.

1.3 Have a lawful basis for every piece of personal data it sends through the platform, and give the privacy notices the law requires.

1.4 Follow messaging channel rules, including the WhatsApp Business, Meta platform and SMS sender rules, and the regulator's rules on telemarketing and unsolicited communications in each country where it contacts people.

1.5 Check AI output before relying on it for decisions with legal, financial, medical or similarly significant effects on a person, and keep a human able to review and reverse such decisions.

1.6 Obey the law of every country. Nothing generated or published through the platform may break the laws of the UAE or of any country where the content is generated, published or heard, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Kuwait and the other countries we serve.

2. Prohibited uses

Nobody may use the platform to:

2.1 break any law, or help someone else do so;

2.2 make calls or send messages that are unsolicited, deceptive, harassing or abusive, or that ignore opt-outs or "do not call" registers;

2.3 clone or imitate a real person's voice without that person's documented consent, clone public figures, officials or voices on EchoNova's blocked list, or create audio intended to deceive someone into believing they are speaking to a specific real person;

2.4 impersonate a government body, bank, or any other organisation, or collect passwords, card details or other credentials under false pretences;

2.5 collect personal data covertly, or record people without the notice and consent the law requires;

2.6 make fully automated decisions about people's credit, employment, housing, insurance, health care, or access to essential services, without human review;

2.7 process data the Customer is not allowed to send us, including, unless agreed in writing in advance:

  • payment card data subject to PCI DSS;
  • health data subject to health-sector data rules (including UAE Federal Law No. 2 of 2019 on the use of ICT in health fields and its storage requirements);
  • data from banks or other entities regulated by a central bank, where those rules restrict outsourcing or hosting;
  • children's data;

2.8 generate or distribute content that is illegal, defamatory, hateful, sexually explicit involving minors, or that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights;

2.9 attack, probe or overload the platform, get around usage limits or security controls, or reverse-engineer the models or software;

2.10 use the platform or its outputs to build a competing product, or to extract or train on EchoNova's models;

2.11 generate content with any platform voice (library voices, EchoNova voices or cloned voices) that is: sexual; religious, or that touches on religions or religious figures; political, electoral or partisan; harmful (violence, terrorism, self-harm, hate, harassment, fraud, disinformation); or that impersonates the voice owner, attributes statements to them, or implies their endorsement of a product, organisation or person;

2.12 remove, disable or tamper with the watermark in any audio generated through the platform;

2.13 clone, extract, train on or redistribute the model of any library voice.

3. Enforcement and liability

If we reasonably believe this policy has been broken, we may remove the content and suspend the affected service, numbers or accounts. Where the circumstances allow, we will tell the Customer first and give it a chance to fix the problem. Serious or repeated breaches allow us to end the agreement.

A user who breaches this policy bears full legal liability for the breach. If an affected person, including a voice owner, reports a breach to us, we will provide them with all the evidence we hold on the use in question.

4. Reporting misuse

Report suspected misuse to abuse@echonova.ai with: a link to or copy of the content, where and when you saw it, your connection to it (for example, voice owner), and a description of the breach. Voice owners can also use the report form in the platform.
