Voice Artist Terms.
This page summarises the rules under which every voice in the voice library of EchoNova AI L.L.C-FZ, licensed by Meydan Free Zone, Dubai (trade licence no. 2650442.01), Meydan Grandstand, 6th floor, Meydan Road, Nad Al Sheba, Dubai, UAE ("EchoNova"), is recorded, used and paid for. It is published so that artists, customers and the public know these rules. Each artist (the "Artist") signs a Voice Recording and Licence Agreement, or a Commercial Licence Addendum if they recorded earlier, and the signed agreement prevails over this page if they differ.
1. Recording and recording fee
1.1 The Artist records the scripts EchoNova sends them, in their dialect, at approved studio quality (the "Recordings"). EchoNova confirms acceptance or states where they do not conform within ten (10) business days.
1.2 EchoNova pays the recording fee stated in the agreement within six (6) days of accepting the Recordings. This fee is for the recording only, is non-refundable, and is not deducted from the Artist's later earnings.
2. Licence
2.1 The Artist grants EchoNova a non-exclusive, worldwide licence, for the term of the agreement, to: (a) keep the Recordings; (b) build a synthetic voice model from them that represents the Artist's voice (the "Voice Model"); (c) show it in the voice library and make it available to its customers to generate their content through its platform and services, including text to speech, the API and voice agents, whether the platform runs on EchoNova's infrastructure or on a customer's or partner's infrastructure under its technical control ("Commercial Use"); (d) use it in its own demos, introductory materials and marketing.
2.2 Customers receive the audio they generate, under EchoNova's terms. They never receive the Recordings or the Voice Model.
2.3 EchoNova does not give the Recordings or the Voice Model to any third party, except infrastructure providers bound by confidentiality to run the platform.
2.4 EchoNova alone decides how a voice is displayed, ranked, categorised and priced, and may suspend or withdraw it from the platform at any time; the Artist is still paid for any actual use.
3. Pay
3.1 The Artist earns ten percent (10%) of the net revenue EchoNova actually collects from paying customers for the use of their voice, across all services. Net revenue means amounts collected after VAT, refunds and payment fees, and nothing else.
3.2 In subscriptions and bundles covering several voices, revenue is split between the voices used in proportion to the quantity generated with each (characters for text to speech, minutes for voice agents).
3.3 Nothing is earned on free trials and free quotas, on short library previews, or on EchoNova's own uses under 2.1(d). Each statement shows the quantity of free use.
3.4 Within thirty (30) days after each ninety (90) day period, EchoNova sends the Artist a detailed statement of actual use of their voice (characters and call minutes, paid and free), amounts collected, each deduction, and the amount due, and pays it with the statement by bank transfer in AED or in the Artist's currency, with no minimum. The Artist may query any item within sixty (60) days, and EchoNova answers within fifteen (15) business days. The Artist bears their own taxes in their country of residence.
4. Permitted and prohibited use
4.1 Customers may use the generated audio for any lawful commercial purpose without the Artist's prior approval of each use, including IVR and call centres, voice agents, advertising, radio and television, documentaries, e-learning, audiobooks, apps and APIs, worldwide.
4.2 Through the Voice Usage Policy and the Acceptable Use Policy, EchoNova binds every user not to use any voice in: content that breaks the laws of the UAE or of any country where the content is published; sexual, religious, political, electoral or harmful content; or impersonation of the Artist, attributing statements to them, or implying their endorsement of anything. EchoNova removes offending content and suspends offending accounts when a breach is established.
4.3 Every generated audio file carries an inaudible watermark, and EchoNova keeps generation records for up to 12 months.
5. Name and identity
5.1 The Artist chooses whether their voice is shown under their real name or a pseudonym, and may change the choice on thirty (30) days' notice.
5.2 Neither EchoNova nor any user may use the Artist's name, image or any element of their identity to advertise any product or entity, or imply their endorsement, without their prior written consent. Showing the voice in the library under the Artist's name is not advertising.
6. Misuse and evidence
6.1 A user who breaches EchoNova's policies bears full legal liability for the breach.
6.2 If the Artist reports a breaching, abusive or unauthorised use of their voice, EchoNova reviews the report within ten (10) business days, removes the content and suspends the account once the breach is established, and gives the Artist the evidence it holds, to the extent the law permits, for the Artist to use with the competent authorities if they choose.
7. Term and termination
7.1 The agreement runs for twelve (12) months and renews automatically for the same period. After the first twelve months, either party may end it at any time on thirty (30) days' written notice.
7.2 On termination, EchoNova stops offering the voice to new customers; existing customers may keep using it for up to ninety (90) days to move to another voice, with the Artist still paid for that period. Content generated before then remains as it is. EchoNova deletes the Voice Model within thirty (30) days after the transition period ends and keeps the Recordings in a secured archive solely for evidence and legal compliance.
8. Data, transfer and law
8.1 EchoNova keeps the Recordings and the Voice Model in secure storage, with access limited to authorised staff, under UAE data protection law.
8.2 EchoNova may transfer the agreement, the Recordings or the Voice Model only to a successor of its whole business, on the same terms, with thirty (30) days' notice to the Artist and no wider use. The voices alone, or part of the business, may not be sold without the Artist's consent, and the Artist may object to a transfer and end the agreement on thirty (30) days' notice.
8.3 The agreement is governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and the courts of Dubai have jurisdiction over any dispute. This page is published in Arabic and English; the Arabic version prevails.
