Text to Speech history
Find, replay and download earlier generations from the History section of the Text to Speech page.
Every generation made on the Text to Speech page is kept. When you finish this page you will know how to find a generation in the History list, play it again in the player and save it as a file, without spending any credits.
What you need
- A workspace you belong to. History lists every generation made from the portal in the workspace.
- At least one generation. Until then the list reads Nothing yet. and Press Generate. Each one lands here with its voice, its length and a download.
Steps
Step 1: Open the History section
History is the section below the writing area on the Text to Speech page. Scroll down to it, or click All in Assets → at its top right to open the Assets page instead.
The list loads the newest generations as the page opens.
Step 2: Find the generation
Items are listed newest first. Each item shows the text that was spoken, then
the voice's name, its dialect, its length and the date and time it was made,
for example 15 Sep, 15:42. A generation that has not finished shows
Processing, and one that did not work shows Failed.
The search box, Search what you made, narrows the items already loaded as you type. It matches the text of the generation, the voice's name and its dialect.
The list shows 8 items at a time. Click Load more to fetch the next 8. The button is hidden while the search box holds text.
Step 3: Play it again
Click the item's orb, or its Play button. The player opens at the bottom of the page, loads that generation and starts playing; the button turns into Pause while it plays. Click again to pause. The writing area is not changed, so the text you are working on stays where it is.
Step 4: Download it
Click Download on the item. The file is saved as speech- followed by
the generation's identifier and .wav, the same file the player's
Download gives you. See
Formats, quality and download.
Worked example
Yesterday at 15:42 you generated a product announcement with a Fusha voice, downloaded it, and today you need the file again.
- Open the Text to Speech page and scroll to History.
- Type a few words of the announcement in Search what you made, or find
the item that shows that voice's name and the date and
15:42. If it is not among the first 8 items, click Load more. - Click Play to confirm it is the right take; the player at the bottom of the page plays it while the text you are writing now stays put.
- Click Download. The file
speech-<identifier>.wavis saved, and nothing is charged.
What happens next
- Replaying and downloading are free. Only the original generation was charged.
- A new generation appears at the top of the list when it finishes. Other members see it the next time they open the page.
- To make the same audio again, copy the text from the item, paste it into the writing area and click Generate. This is a new generation and is charged like any other. The Assets page shows only the start of the text, so keep your own copy of any text you may want to generate again.

Troubleshooting
The list reads Nothing yet
No generation has been made in this workspace from the portal yet. Generate one; it appears at the top of the list when it finishes.
An item plays but the text in the writing area is different
Replaying does not load the item's text into the writing area. Copy the text from the item and paste it into the writing area to generate it again, which is charged.
Load more does not appear
Every item is already listed, or the search box holds text. The button only shows while there are more items to fetch.
Download opened a new tab instead of saving a file
The file could not be prepared in the page; a notification titled Error appeared as well. Close the tab and click Download on the same item again.
A generation I saw a moment ago is missing
The list shows what has been loaded so far. Reload the browser page; the list then shows the newest 8 items again.
Delete did not work
A notification says why. Still processing. Delete it once it finishes. means the generation has not finished yet. Only the person who made this, or a workspace admin, can delete it. means you made neither the generation nor are an admin. This was not deleted. Try again. means the request failed; click Delete again.
